Brasília, 26 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Authorities and police chiefs from 18 countries are in Brasilia to examine a new concept of public security. Sponsored by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the II Executive Conference for South American Public Security will discuss organized crime, terrorism and the traffic of arms and drugs.
"No country has all the answers, but together we can find solutions," says William Berger of the US who is the president of the IACP. The conference will bring together 400 participants from countries as diverse as Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, United States, Canada, France, Spain, Indonesia and Botswana.
Berger reports that the tendency is for criminal activities around the world to follow the same procedures. "That is why we need to compare notes on how crime is behaving in other countries," he said. (AB)
