Brasília - An agreement will be signed today between the vice-president of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), Benjamin Steinbruch, and prince Philippe of Belgium for the purpose of promoting economic cooperation between the two countries. The signing ceremony will count on the presence of the Belgian ministers of the Economy and Foreign Trade and a group composed of 90 Belgian entrepreneurs interested in investing in Brazil.

The Belgian prince is heading an economic mission intended to encourage business deals and partnerships between companies and government institutions from the two countries. Belgium wants Brazil to use its seaports in Ghent, Zeebrugge, and Antwerp (Europe's second largest commercial seaport), located less than 350 kilometers from Europe's major consumer markets, including London, Paris, and Frankfurt.
