Brasília - The 100th anniversary of the birth of one of Brazil's most famous writers, Érico Veríssimo, will be commemorated today in the Senate. Attending the ceremony will be Erico's son, Luiz Fernando Verissimo, also a famous Brazilian writer.

The commemorations will consist of speeches on the author's works and an exhibition in the Senate library of personal items used by Erico Verissimo which will be open to the public from today until September 2.
