Rio de Janeiro, 15 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - President Fernando Henrique Cardoso reaffirmed that his administration is committed to tax reform as a way of putting an end to cascading taxes, reducing taxes on imports and making Brazilian goods more competitive on international markets. Cardoso called increased exports essential for economic growth, strengthening domestic businesses and generating employment for millions of workers.
Cardoso said the government is making an effort to get a bigger market share and remove trade barriers which make it hard for Brazil to export to developed nations. By removing taxes from exports the country will gain more space on international markets, said the president. (AB)
