Rio – Today, as part of the celebrations of National Science and Technololgy Week, 27 researchers from four different regions of the country will be receiving the Petrobras Technology Award (Prêmio Petrobras de Tecnologia). The award, created in 2004, is sponsored jointly by Petrobras and the National Council for Technological and Scientific Development (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cientifico e Tecnológico) (CNPq).

The award consists of prize money and scholarships for studies in Brazilian universities for post- graduate work. It awards accomplishments in nine different areas of scientific and technological research.
