Brasília, June 2, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The French President, Jacques Chirac, said yesterday (1) that he will include the proposal made by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to create an international fund to combat hunger in today's (2) meeting of the G-8 (the group of the world's seven most industrialized countries, plus Russia). Lula presented the proposal yesterday, during the "enlarged dialogue" encounter that preceded the meeting.
In a collective interview, Chirac said that he considered Lula's speech, from which he cited several passages, very lucid and consistent, according to information provided by the Minister of Finance, Antônio Palocci. (DAS)
