Tourism will create 1.5 million jobs over next four years

Florianópolis, 2/24/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - According to the head of the Secretariat of Tourism, Milton Zuanaze, tourism will create 1.5 million jobs over the next four years as the government integrates its efforts in the sector with all 27 states and regional promotion projects. He said that progress had been made in southern Brazil, especially in markets in the US and Europe, attracting visitors for leisure, business, ecotourism, fishing, rural tourism, and bird and whale watching.

Zuanaze called for new tourist attractions and more domestic tourism, better services and more facilities for tourists. (AB)
