Solidary Christmas campaign begins tomorrow

Rio, December 5, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - From December 6 to 15, the Rio Food Bank, a program of the Rio de Janeiro Commercial Federation's Social Welfare Service (Sesc-Rio) to combat hunger, is holding its Solidary Christmas campaign, which this year will count on the involvement of actors and athletes. The event that will mark the start of the campaign will occur tomorrow (6), at 9 A.M. in the Socio-Educational Center of the Saint Martin Foundation, in Lapa, in the center of Rio. The Saint Martin Foundation, one of the institutions helped by the Rio Food Bank, provides assistance to children and adolescents in situations of social risk.

Tomorrow, 50 boys and girls will partake of a breakfast of sandwiches and juice, prepared by actress Cássia Kiss, child actor Pedro Malta, singer Leonardo, and Olympic volleyball champion Jackeline Silva, as well as the coordinator of Citizenship Action's Christmas without Hunger campaign, Daniel Souza.
