Congress promulgates Inter American Convention against Corruption

Brasília, 28 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Legislative Decree that deals with the Inter American Convention against Corruption, signed by Brazil in 1996, was promulgated this week by the Brazilian Congress. The convention aims to promote and strengthen anti-corruption mechanisms in all the signatory countries.

The general secretary of the non-governmental organization Transparency Brazil, Cláudio Abramo, said that the agreement is "relevant to combat the corruption, not only in our country, but in all the countries of the region." (WPS)
