Brasília, October 14, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The second meeting of the Small Drafting Group is being held in Brasília between today and Friday (14-18), to discuss and revise the Codex Alimentaris norms, referring to fruit juices and vegetables. The meeting assembles around 50 representatives from Brazil, Australia, Mexico, the United States, the Netherlands, Cuba, Thailand, Germany, Greece, Italy, and three international organizations.
Minutes of the proposals will be submitted to the plenary gathering of the Ad Hoc Intergovernmental Group on the Codex for Fruit Juices and Vegetables, which should occur in May, 2003, in Bahia. 136 WHO member-states are expected to attend this meeting, the objective of which is to formulate normas for food exports, as well as to revise existing codes.
