Record number of transplants are performed in Brazil in first two months of 2004

Brasília, April 16, 2004 (Agência Brasil) - Brazil achieved a record number of transplants in the first two months of 2004. According to the Minister of Health, Humberto Costa, 1,835 procedures were performed, 44.03% more than in the same period last year. He said that, if this average is maintained, there will be around eleven thousand transplants this year.
