Brasília, 1/21/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The ministers of Justice, Márcio Thomaz Bastos, and Agrarian Development, Miguel Rossetto, met yesterday afternoon to discuss the land conflict in the state of Roraima because of the demarcation of an Indian reservation known as Raposa Serra do Sol (Sun Mountains Fox). "We are absolutely convinced that this can be dealt with calmly in such a way as to resolve the land conflict problem in Roraima once and for all," said Bastos.

Tomorrow the Interministerial Committee on the Roraima Land Conflict will travel to the state for talks with local authorities. The committee is supposed to make a final report by January 31. (AB)
