Brasília - In a speech at the party commemorating the 26th aniversary of the PT, president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva declared that "The party is going through its most important moment, its most important anniversary.... [it took us a long time to get where we are] but it was worth it."

Lula called on the members of his party to be "politically mature, use good sense and be ready for a fight."
