Brasília - On the fourth day of his trip to Italy, the Minister of Planning, Budget, and Management, Guido Mantega, signed an agreement, yesterday (28), with the Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation, Pietro Lunardi, in Rome, to attract investments in the area of infrastructure.

According to the Ministry of Planning, the cooperation agreement between the two countries will permit joint partnerships for investments mainly in ports and railroads, two areas of great interest to the Italians.

During the 2nd Italo-Brazilian Encounter, Minister Mantega took part in seminars and meetings with Italian government representatives. His goal is to attract investments in Brazil.

An Italian mission came to Brazil in June for the 1st Italo-Brazilian Encounter, in which government representatives and entrepreneurs from the two countries discussed investment opportunities in highways, railroads, and, especially, port administration.
