Russian embargo flattens Brazilian chicken exports

São Paulo - Brazilian chicken exports dropped 16% in September, compared to August (US$203.9 million compared to US$243.8 million). The drop was the direct result of an embargo imposed by Russian on September 20.

According to the chicken exporter association (Abef), from January to September there was an increase of 43% in the volume of chicken exports, compared to the same period last year. And the value of chicken exports, during the same period, was up over 71%.
