Brasília, 2/11/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Transportation Infrastructure Department (Departamento Nacional de Infra-Estrutura de Transportes) (Dnit) has announced it will release R$ 16.1 million for highway repairs in the Northeast, which has been hard hit by torrential rains. According to minister of Transportation, Anderson Adauto, the total amount is R$19.7 million.
The funds will be distributed as follows: R$1.5 million for Alagoas, R$7.5 million for Bahia, R$1.3 million for Ceará, R$ 2 million Maranhão, R$1.5 million for Paraíba, R$1.54 million for Pernambuco, R$ 2 million for Piauí, R$1.8 million for Rio Grande do Norte and R$1.1 million for Sergipe. (AB)
