Brasília, November 21, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The III Meeting on Consultation Mechanisms for Brazil-US trade and investments took place yesterday. Bilateral and multilateral issues, the Doha Round at the World Trade Organization and other challenges in the global marketplace were discussed.

As for the Free Trade Area of the Americas, both countries recognize there are difficulties, but are determined to achieve a balanced, wide-ranging agreement that will meet the interests of both parties.

Brazil also wants to export more textiles to the US and get sanitation certification of Brazilian beef so that raw beef can be exported as well. (AB)
