Fiocruz inaugurates research center in Amazonia

Rio, 19 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Fiocruz (Oswaldo Cruz Foundation) is inaugurating a research center in Manaus today in an ecologically-friendly building from which it will serve the Amazon region. The center will study AIDS among Indians, riverside populations and other specific populational groups.

The center was built at a cost of R$2 million (US$700,000) and will also do research in entomology and bacteriology. (AB)
