Brasília, 18 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - President Fernando Henrique Cardoso signed yesterday a law establishing rules for rodeos in Brazil. It will protect rodeo animals and provide cowboys with security. At the moment, some 1,800 rodeos take place in Brazil annually, generating direct and indirect jobs for some 3 million, and boosting agrobusiness sales.

The law sets up an insurance policy plan and social security obligations for workers and cowboys, and protection for the rodeo animals which includes veterinary care and vaccinations. (AB)
