Rio, 18 (Agência Brasil – ABr) - Within a month cell phone blockers will begin to be installed at the maximum security prison, Bangu 1, in Rio de Janeiro. According to state secretary of Justice, Paulo Saboya, funding has been received and competitive bidding should begin next week for the work.

Saboya also reports that controls on the entrance of cell phones have been more reliable since a court order removed some prison employees and they were replaced with more trustworthy personnel. Saboya said that even so searches would continue in the prison for weapons, drugs and cell phones. (AB)
