Rio, 16 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The use of election opinion polls for financial market speculation is up for discussion at the next Brazilian Securities Exchange Commission meeting, says the new SEC president, Luiz Cantidiano. Among other things, institutions that run polls would be prohibited from operating if the results are not made public. "A private poll is one thing, but operating on the market with knowledge of a poll that is to be made public is something else," said Cantidiano. (AB)
