Ministry to set up commission on risk of imported seeds

Brasília, 11 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Ministry of Agriculture is setting up a commission to analyze the risk of pests and plagues entering Brazil via imported seeds.

According to Odilson Guimarães, president of the Brazilian Seed Producer Association, the commission will set priorities regarding seed purchases and schedules so that the Ministry can examine data on seeds imported. Information on production and sanitation is furnished by exporters. (AB)
