Exports from state of Amazonas on the rise

Brasília, 2 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Exports from the state of Amazonas rose over 24% this year compared to 2001, up from US$322 million to US$400 million. The Manaus Industrial Center continues to be the main exporter, accounting for 90% of them. The biggest importer of goods from Amazonas is the US (mostly cell phones), followed by Venezuela (refrigerators), Mexico and Columbia. Argentina has fallen to seventh place. (AB)
