Brasilia, 27 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Agriculture, Pratini de Moraes announced Tuesday that the upcoming harvest of grains should increase 2.3% over last year's yield. Total production should reach 100.5 million tons.

According to Pratini de Moraes, there was a 4.3% increase of planted area in Brazil in relation to the previous harvest. He added that the expansion wasn't even greater because of the drought in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, states with a large production of corn and soybean. (MW)
