Bratislava (Slovakia), 27 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - President Fernando Henrique Cardoso announced Tuesday that Brazil and Slovakia will sign an agreement to dispense with the need for a visa for tourists of both countries. According to Cardoso, this will encourage people from Slovakia to visit Brazil. Remembering his recent visits to Poland, Russia and the Ukraine, the president said that Brazil has great interest in Central Europe.

Cardoso added that he's anxious to see Slovakians participating in the construction of Brazilian hydroelectric and thermoelectric power plants. "There are more than 50 enterprises underway and, certainly, there's room for Slovakian technology and for more intense cooperation between the two countries," concluded the president. (MW)
