São Paulo, 22 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Today the president of the Central Bank, Armínio Fraga, appealed to Congress for an exemption of the check debit tax (CPMF), which is presently 0.38% on all financial transactions,for stock market trading. "I hope congress will join us on this. We are talking about the people's savings. It is capital cost for our businesses. It is the future generation of jobs that is at risk. We cannot lose this opportunity," said Fraga. (AB)
