Brasília, 5 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - A forum on animal and plant sanitation ended yesterday at the Interamerican Institute for Agricultural Cooperation. It bought together representatives of sector agencies and state secretaries of Agriculture. The forum was created 5 months ago and its president, Reynaldo Oliveira, says there is a lack of funding.

Oliveira met with minister of Agriculture, Pratini de Morais, to explain the problem in dealing with animal and plant inspection and sanitation. Oliveira said the minister said that election laws prohibit the government from releasing funds at this time, but after the elections funds will flow again. (AB)
