Rio, October 30, 2002 (Agência Brasil – ABr) - Petrobras has announced that the Jubarte oil field in the Campos Basin, with estimated reserves of 600 million barrels, has now gone into operation. It will produce 16,500 barrels of petroleum daily and 100,000 cubic meters of gas for the time being.

It is estimated that Petrobras spent US$100 million to make the field operational. Its maximum production capacity is reported to be 25,000 barrels/daily. (AB)
