São Paulo, November 13, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (popularly known as Lula) said today that inflation is a concern for 175 million Brazilians. "We don't want inflation to inflict harm on the Brazilian people, again. It is precisely for this reason that we are trying, with great tranquility and great care, to give our contribution to this moment of transition, so as not to create any problem that might have an impact on the stock market, the dollar, or an economy that has been weakened as ours has. We are doing what we must do," Lula affirmed. (DAS)
