Long-term interest rate set at 7.5%

Brasília – Brazil's Long-Term Interest Rate (Taxa de Juros de Longo Prazo) (TJLP) for the third quarter (July-Setember) was set at 7.5% yesterday by the National Monetary Council (Conselho Monetário Nacional) (CMN).

In making the announcement, minister of Finance, Guido Mantega, declared that the government's 2008 inflation target remains 4.5%.
