Brasília, June 2, 2004 (Agência Brasil) - After 11 years as a fugitive from justice in the United States, David Arthur Lloyd, an American, was arrested by the Brazilian Federal Police. He was detained yesterday (1) in Natal and transferred today to Brasília. Lloyd is accused of involvement in a scam of around US$ 62 million. The arrest warrant was issued by the US courts, through the Interpol.

Lloyd was sent from the Federal Police Superintendency to the Medical Examiners' Office (IML) for review. From there he will be taken to the Papuda prison, where he will remain until his extradition to the United States.
