São Paulo, May 5, 2004 (Agência Brasil) - The Cost of Living Index (ICV) rose 0.06% in April in the municipality of São Paulo. This percentage was lower than in March, when inflation grew 0.37%, according to data compiled by the Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socio-Economic Studies (Dieese).
The factors responsible for diminishing the rate were food (-0.33%) and transportation (-0.11%), which reduced the impact of increases in health (0.59%), housing (0.12%), and clothing (0.53%).
