Brasília, March 5, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - On his way out of a meeting, yesterday (4), with the executive secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Bernard Appy, the president of the Brazilian Chamber of Construction, Paulo Safady, said that the government's measures to stimulate the construction sector should generate approximately 234 thousand new jobs. The measures announced this week by the government will channel R$ 1.6 billion from savings accounts and another R$ 2 billion from the Federal Savings Bank into this area. (DAS)
