Recife - The president of the Brazilian Tourism Corporation (Embratur), Eduardo Sanovicz, is celebrating a US$100 million surplus in Janaury when Brazilians spent US$196 million abroad, but tourists brought US$296b million to Brazil.

Sanovicz is also celebrating Carnival in Recife, where he points out there are more and more foreigners each year because they enjoy the variety of the festivities there. (AB)
