Brasília, January 9, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Two hundred Brazilians detained in the United States for illegal immigration will return to Brazil in 15 days. Deputy João Magno (PT-MG) - a member of the Brazilian mission that negotiated their return with the American government - informed that the final details of the operation have already been arranged, too, with the Ministry of Justice and Itamaraty (Minister of Foreign Relations). "The Brazilian government expressed its agreement, and within fifteen days the first flight will certainly arrive in Brazil," the legislator affirmed.
According to Magro, the Brazilian government demanded that the Brazilians not be transported in a military aircraft, not be handcuffed, and not wear prison uniforms dujring the return trip. (DAS)
