Brasília, May 8, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Ministry of Environment, (MMA), will support the Faces of Brazil program that the Sugarloaf Group plans to sell, of Sustainable Products, in its supermarkets. Executives of the company presented the Minister, Marina Silva, and the Secretary of Sustainable Development, Gilney Viana, with the program that will make the supermarket network absorb community products, based on social and environmental criteria. The MMA will support the program, identifying, motivating, and preparing the communities.
According to Gilney Viana, an organization will be created, which, through partnerships with Sebrae and non-governmental organizations, will provide guidance to producers to make supplies available, according to the Group's marketing requirements. (DAS)
