São Paulo, 12/9/2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Horst Köhler, declared that the present inflation in Brazil is "worrisome," but that Lula showed him he was aware of the problem. Kohler said there was a willingness to sit down together and find the best solution, without "making the situation overly dramatic."
As for the 2003 primary surplus target of 3.75% of GDP, Kohler said there was "a possibility the new administration would accept that target." (AB)
