Brasília, 12/4/2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Six videoconferences on "Youth and AIDS," sponsored by Unesco and the World Bank, will take place around the world. Young people from Brazil will join youths from Mozambique and Portugal this Wednesday to attend them.
According to Jorge Werthein, Unesco representative in Brazil, as long as there is discrimination against people with AIDS, the disease tends to become invisible. "Young people are especially suspectible to this disease. The future of this epidemic depends on the behavior of youth, respect for their rights, and the quality of information and services we can ensure they get," he said. (AB)
