Unesco holds exhibit on world heritage in Brazil

Brasília, December 3, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - From tomorrow (4) through December 19, at the organization's headquarters in Paris (France), the Brazilian office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (Unesco) will hold an exhibit, The World Heritage in Brazil, based on the second edition of the book with the same title, presenting the seventeen Brazilian cultural and natural sites included in the World Heritage List.

The exhibit consists of 55 large-scale photographic panels (2 meters in height), accompanied by explanatory texts, the source of which is the extensive research performed by Unesco. The exhibit will be opened to the public on Thursday (5). The idea of Jorge Werthein, Unesco representative in Brazil, is that the exhibit circulate through various countries, to publicize the Brazilian heritage. (DAS)
