Santiago, December 3, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The president of Chile, Ricardo Lagos, after meeting with president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at La Moneda Palace today, said that right now the key word for Brazil is confidence. In this sense, he emphasized that the world has to assume the responsibility of confidence in Brazil. Lagos commended the governmental transition in Brazil, which he considered exemplary, and told Lula that his challenge in the exercise of the presidency will be to reconcile economic development with social justice. According to Lagos, Brazil and Chile will have a joint commitment to demand clearer and more human rules in the globalization process. (DAS)
