Rio, 10/15/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Weekly Consumer Price Index (IPC-S) survey for the first week of October (ending on October 6), which is conducted by the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), showed inflation of 0.67%, down 0.10 percentage points from the prior survey at the end of September.

According to the FGV, there was less inflationary pressure from farm and government-controlled prices, but prices in the Housing group, which rose 1.04%, continue to influence the index. (AB)
