Brasília, 1/10/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The president of the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB), Enrique Iglesias, reports that the meeting he had yesterday with president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, vice president José Alencar and minister of Finance, Antônio Palocci, was very positive. "I reported on visits we have made to 18 ministers. I told the president we were pleased with the professional attitude, the quality and seriousness we found. We were impressed by the dynamic, enthusiastic approach to problems," said Iglesias.
He added that the favorable impression of the new government sustains the optimism about the country's future now found in Brazil and which is appearing abroad. He concluded by saying that in his opinion Brazil was on track and that things would work out well. (AB)
