Brasília, 15 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The federal government has decided to send a mission against organized crime in Espirito Santo to that state this week. Minister of Justice, Paulo de Tarso Ribeiro, reports that a series of measures will be implemented over a period of at least 90 days. "We wish to emphasize that the government is sensitive to the need for communication with the public, while we are not about to renounce our constitutional duty with regard to crime," he said.

The mission headed to Espirito Santo consists of 50 Federal Police agents, government lawyers and experts from the Central Bank and the Office of Institutional Security. They will be accompanied by representatives from the Secretariat for Human Rights. (AB)
