Brasília, 10 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Yesterday minister of Agriculture, Pratini de Moraes, met with Otto Reich, US deputy secretary of State, and suggested that the US open its market for Brazilian meat and alcohol. "These exports are very much in Brazil's interest. We are competitive and an agreeement would mean real progress in Free Trade Area of the Americas negotiations," said the minister.

Pratini de Morais also announced that Chile is about to resume imports of matured and deboned meats from southern Brazil now that the region is free of foot and mouth disease. (AB)
