Brasília, 3 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Elementary and high school teachers in São José dos Campos (São Paulo) are the first to receive the Education Manual on Sustainable Consumption, which is published by the University of Brasilia, with an initial pressrun of 32,000. The manual explains how to reduce waste and the impact on the environment, and is a stimulus for youths to be more responsible consumers.

According to the minister of Environment, José Carlos Carvalho, it is fundamental to promote a change in present production and consumption standards in order to reduce environmental degradation and the predatory use of natural resources. "This change is vital if we are to reduce degradation and transform the Brazilian development model," he said. (AB)
