Brasília, 3 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Agriculture, Pratini de Moraes, says that the government has increased farm employment and income, making Brazilian agriculture "one of the most competitive in the world." It also, said the minister, gave the rapid modernization of the country's productive sector a boost.
"Last year, for example, the farm sector exported goods worth US$24 billion. We have room to produce more, create more farm income and export more. We want to become the world's breadbasket. We want to do that without destroying the environment, while fighting for market access for our goods," said the minister. (AB)
