Rio, 3 (Agência Brasil - ABr) – Thanks to an effort by the National Organization of Petroleum Industries, the Norwegian firm, Kvaerner, will build the six modules of the P-50 oil drilling platform ordered by Petrobras in Brazil at the Jurong shipyard in Rio de Janeiro. That means employment and income for Brazilians. Kvaerner was originally going to build the platform in Malaysia.
The cost of the construction is estimated at US$115 million and will begin in two weeks with completion scheduled to occur in 17 months. (AB)
