Brasilia, 4 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The secretary of the Federal Revenue department, Everardo Maciel, introduced Friday (March 1) the website called "Fiscal Citizenship", which will allow taxpayers to know how much the government has collected in a base year and what the government is doing with this money. "The taxpayer will be able to know the concrete effects of public policies," Maciel explained. The new service will be available this week on the Federal Revenue website at www.receita.fazenda.gov.br.

Maciel added that, through this website, the taxpayer will be able to form an opinion about what is being done with the money in public policy programs in all of Brazil. When accessing the homepage, the user will find the phrase: "To you it's a tax, to millions of Brazilians it's income. You are doing your part. Find out how the government is doing its part." (MW)
