Brasilia, 4 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The 7th Brazilian Congress of Municipalities starts today in Brasília. The event, that lasts until Thursday, will be officially opened tomorrow by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Aécio Neves. "The Congress is mobilizing mayors from all over Brazil. And it's important that the Legislative participate of this important event of national integration," said Neves.
The main topic of this year's conference will be the social responsibility of rulers. For 4 days, municipal administrators will have the opportunity to participate of exchanges in the social area and address important issues for the socioeconomic development of their cities. Several federal government agencies will expose their various programs aimed at decentralization, mutual cooperation and financial resources for municipal construction works. (MW)
