Minister says budget cut was a responsible decision by Cardoso

Brasília, 27 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The budget 2002 cut of R$ 12,4 billion was an act of responsibility by the Fernando Henrique Cardoso administration, says minister of Planning, Budget and Management, Martus Tavares. He added that the decision gives the lie to reports that the government had "a full piggy bank" for this year's elections. (AB)
